Mitsuyo Moore was born in Tokyo, Japan. She came to California in 1984 to study painting and printing at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1988, she continued advanced studies in drawing, painting, monotype and printmaking.
Mitsuyo creates visually stunning pieces of art marrying perfectly the intersection of line and color. Her works often come from within, informing her creative process through meditation; letting intuition, spirit, and the visual world speak to her, creating intensely personal and visually colorful works of art.
Mitsuyo has been featured in several publications including American Art Collector, Art of Northern California and well-known Italian magazine Biennale Internazionale Dell’Arte Contemporanea.
Her works have been widely exhibited in the United States and abroad. Mitsuyo was selected to participate in both the International Contemporary Masters Exhibition at Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art and the 5th International Art Festival at Omma Center of Contemporary Art in Chania, Crete, Greece. Recent local exhibitions include Uptown Studio in Oakland and Hall Wines in St. Helena.
